Melbourne singer, instrumentalist and songwriter, Tanya George has just announced the launch date for her debut EP Sonder at Revolver Upstairs on Friday April 7th.
Fiercely staunch and independent, Tanya has also shared a stunning film clip for her latest single, ‘The Lie’ which saw her work with upcoming film-maker Mitch Mev.
‘The Lie’ is the first single taken from the Sonder EP which was produced by Tommy Spender (Gotye, Clairy Browne, Mphazes, Mama Kin).
“I remember crawling up with my guitar underneath my study desk next to the filing cabinet as the whole song poured out of me… I didn’t even understand what I was writing about back then”
“If I didn’t get this EP out of me, I was going to loose my mind. It was like a volcano was erupting inside my body. The process of creating this piece of art helped me discover myself. Each song on this EP has an insane story behind it, some written when I was 15 covering conversations of brokenness, abuse, divorce, realisation and retaliation. I couldn’t be more excited about life right now and sharing it with everyone.” Said Tanya of the EP.
Tanya has many tales to tell, from singing the national anthem at the Motor GP to random hangs with Dizzy Rascal and performing at the after party for the 2012 London Olympics medalists. Tanya has played over 200 shows in the past 18 months and is thrilled to be launching the EP at Revolver Upstairs on April 7th.
